Rock Up has opened its doors at St Stephens in Hull and is more than ready for business!

What a fantastic, exhilarating experience you and your family could have at this amazing indoor climbing centre. The place to be this spring time and the most challenging around in town! With 26 different walls to climb ranging from the skyscraper wall to the stairway to heaven and brightly coloured light-up walls. This is not just for children but for all different ages starting from 4 years old to families, birthday parties, school parties, to corporate team building events and more.  Each wall has many different climbing strategies to them and you can challenge yourself on each visit and set targets. You can climb the stairway to heaven and then jump the leap of faith if you dare! but don’t panic, using automatic belay devices takes in the slack as you climb and then lowers you gently down to the ground.

The session includes a 30 minute introduction session, including registration, group orientation, harness fitting & safety briefing. Followed by 55 minutes within the arena climbing walls and 5 minutes take your harness off. Spectators can relax in the viewing area alongside the café serving great coffee, fresh food and slush drinks.

A climbing wall experience for all the family and a soft play area for the little ones to play up to the age of 8 years old. With exciting slides, air popping balls, puzzles to master and a ball pool.

Rock Up launches Autism / SEN climbing sessions

Rock Up has become the indoor climbing sensation with children and adults alike. Appealing to all ages, Rock up provides a thrilling array of climbs to challenge all levels of confidence, ability and agility.

To take this one step further and in honour of World Autism Awareness Week, Rock Up have launched the first of, hopefully many, Autism/SEN sessions at their 3 sites in Whiteley, Birmingham and Hull. These sessions are aiming to provide a calmer environment, with a simplified briefing, fewer climbers and a quiet room for extra space. The team have also been working in conjunction with the Autism Society to help create a Visual Story for children and adults to familiarise themselves with their visit. There are also Certificates of Achievement to promote positive achievements – whatever they may be specific to the individual.

Climbing has great benefits for everyone, but specifically for children with additional needs as it can help increase muscle tone, develop self-esteem, improve concentration and confidence all in a safe environment:
