Events at Junction, Goole

For a small venue, in a small town, in an often-overlooked corner of East Yorkshire’s flatlands, Junction is a fantastic and well known establishment. Junction was instrumental in the establishment of the Small Venues Network and is involved in many regional and national initiatives all with the single purpose of bringing the best possible arts activity to the town and embedding it into the life of the area. They often have autism friendly screenings. Here are some of the events at Junction, Goole.

Abominable (U)
25th October – 31st October
30th October – Autism Friendly Screening
Fri, 6pm; Sat, Tues, Weds, Thurs, 2pm

When frustrated teenager Yi finds a young Yeti hiding on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai, she and her mischievous friends, Jin and Peng, name him Everest and embark on an epic 2000 mile quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth. But the trio will have to stay one-step ahead of the wealthy Burnish and zoologist Dr. Zara who want to capture the mythical creature. From the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes, the friends try to help Everest get back to his home in this abominable animated adventure!

Autism Friendly Screenings are films shown with low-level lighting, reduced sound-levels and no adverts or trailers. The auditorium will open 30 minutes before the film to allow audiences time to  familiarise themselves with the space. Visits to the venue prior to the screening can also be arranged. Aimed at both children and adults on the autistic spectrum, along with their carers, families and/or friends, it is fine for audiences to move around, make noise and take breaks during the film.
